Prophet of Satire

Lo, there was a man in that tribe that stood taller than the flock - for he was gifted with the means to bring forth mirth at the cost of others. This, he dubbed satire. And it was good.

Lo, he taught others to see that funny knoweth no bounds or bindings. His voice would echo in all ears as the sound of perfect mockery... And it was good.

So mote it be.

Is that a picture of Kahlil Gibran? That dude's book "The Prophet" is one of the best satirical works ever!!!

Close relative to Gibran, yes. Specialized in the satire rather than deity oriented poetry, and highly speculative sexual references that may or may not imply that old men should be impregnating very young girls...

Probably a good call.

That's odd. When you first posted this, I swear I didn't see any text underneath, just the tags. And as par for the course, the write-up makes the post.

You make me feel so pretty.

When I posted this from my iPhone I has spent about 30 minutes crafting the text - and it was SOOO much better than what appears here now, btw - and I hit post, and it appeared with nothing. it was lost to the great void of fail.

I was... NOT. IMPRESSED.

Damn you SquareSpace app!
/shakes fist at sky/

I'm surprised I didn't read about a slew of fail induced rage murders in the Westerly Sun this morning. Perhaps you hid the bodies better this time? Perhaps.
